Multiple 40-Yard RoRo Skips for Smallholding Clearance in Derby
Smart Environmental supplied multiple 40-yard roll-on roll-off (RoRo) skips for a land clearance project at a smallholding in Derby.
The land had previously been used for storage and contained several different types of waste. Rather than placing everything into mixed waste containers, separate skips were supplied for metal, wood, green waste and general waste.
This approach allowed the different materials to be managed individually as the land was cleared.

The customer needed to clear land that had accumulated various waste materials during its previous use as a storage area.
Smart Environmental supplied dedicated 40-yard skips for the different waste streams, allowing the customer to separate materials during the clearance.
By providing containers for metal, wood, green waste and general waste, the project could be organised around the types of material being removed.
Why Were Separate Skips Supplied?
Land clearance projects often involve a mixture of materials that require different waste management arrangements.
In this case, supplying separate containers meant that metal, wood and green waste did not need to be combined with general waste.
Keeping materials separate can help reduce contamination and make it easier to direct suitable waste towards appropriate recycling or recovery facilities.
Dedicated waste streams may also offer cost advantages compared with mixed waste, depending on the material, quantities and disposal arrangements.
